About the blog
My blog is titled ‘ENGvironmentalism’, a term I coined to mean engineering a smarter environment. The blog is a showcase for innovative green ideas and a forum to highlight some of the absurdities in our everyday technology.
About the picture
The title of this blog features a photo I took in Chiang Mai, Thailand, of a woman working in a terraced rice field. The image is a suitable homage to our humble beginnings in engineering a smarter environment. The terraced landscape helps to reduce run-off of natural irrigation water, thereby conserving soil and allowing the workers to harvest on a flat surface in an otherwise hilly area.
